When you take up a trip and a hike along a trail as daunting as the Appalachian Trail, you can safely expect to face many challenges and also trials along the way. After all, a nature trail and a hike along 2,178 miles along the Appalachian Trail are not supposed to be easy. But a new report by the National Parks Conservation Association highlights some of the new challenges that face those who want to take up the Appalachian Trail. For one, the natural as well as cultural resources along the Appalachian Trail are under serious threat. A lot of development of the trail is taking place which is polluting the atmosphere and also threatening the historic and heritage sites along the trail. There are many constructions taking place along the trail including gas pipelines, power lines and in some cases even racetracks that are placed just next to the trail and threaten its natural beauty immensely.
The scenic beauty as well as natural habitat of the Appalachian Trail is being slowly but surely denuded and robbed, which means that as time passes, the unique charm and the delight of this trail could be lost forever. All of this is a matter of concern to all genuine Appalachian Trail lovers

Now this was something that was just waiting to be attempted. People want to go faster, stronger and higher on everything and why should good old Mount Everest be exempt to the test of human endurance and grit? Chad Kellogg has decided that he wants to attempt a speed ascent of Everest and the target set is to get up on the summit of the highest mountain on our planet in less than 30 hours. If this were not enough, the attempt would be without Sherpas and also with additional oxygen, which is actually quite a double or triple whammy if you may. Some people certainly do not believe in making things easy for themselves as they push themselves to the very limits of human tolerance.
Chad Kellogg wants to attempt this feet from the South Side of the mount and he is currently in Nepal, looking to scout out the route and get himself ready for attempting this daring and supremely challenging attempt. He is likely to spend as many as one and a half months preparing him and could start up his way on this feat only in Mid-may. This has evoked a lot of for and against responses from many people so you can watch out for a lot of partisan views on this.

We have been talking about the inimitable Everest 2010 for quite some weeks now. This is quite understandable given the fact that there is nothing quite like the experience of conquering the Majestic Mount Everest. And when you have someone who is on row for his 20th summit climb, you can imagine the excitements as well as all the lovely expectations that you as well as others who have been waiting for it. Now Apa Sherpa has left his home in Utah to make his way to Everest 2010 which means that the Everest 2010 season officially begins now. We had speculated that this would start in April, but the fact that Apa is on his way to the mountain that he loves to conquer so much is indication that the Everest 2010 season has officially taken off. And this is great news for adventure lovers everywhere.
Apa Sherpa does not want Everest 2010 to be just a matter of personal laurels. This year he is highlighting the cause of education and economic progress of his home country of Nepal, which is one of the poorest countries on the planet. This is what social responsibility along with personal excellence and ambition is all about.
