If your idea of an adventurous trip is different than just going to a remote location and trekking or skydiving, then try shark viewing.
Try out swimming between sharks and feeding them right out of your hand from shark cages and hookah systems. In the hookah system air is provided from the boat above unlike in diving with air cylinders along with you. You can try out this shark viewing in places off the coasts of US, Mexico, South Africa and Australia. The shark sizes range from half a meter to the size of cars and the size of a sperm whale can range from a car to a big bus. For the ones who do not dare to enter the water infested with sharks, they can view these sharks from the top of the boat.
The best pace to swim with sharks is the Guadalupe in Mexico. It is considered the best place in the entire world to surely spot group of sharks together. There are shark viewing boats with shark cages that need to be booked before in advance and the trip lasts for a maximum time of a week.
The Tour d’Afrique 2010 race has just concluded and the winners were a Australian man and a German female.
The tour ended in the Cape Town which began from Cairo in Egypt. The participants had to travel about 1200 kilometers and 120 days across the continent of Africa through the toughest terrains known to man. This is a physical and metal challenge like no other with extreme dedication and will from participants. The participants have to pass through terrains that are beautiful yet treacherous. The mandate’s for the tour are multiple with the intention of testing the human spirit, raising awareness about the conditions of Africa and finally to raise funds for environmental protection by promoting bicycles.
The race was won in an overall time of 398 hours by the Australian Stuart Biggs and the second was South African Jethri de Decker with a time of 414 hours. In the woman’s category the German Gisela Gartmair won the first place with 404 hours. You may be aware of the fact that there was a terrible earthquake in Haiti in the beginning of 2010 that wrecked havoc and led to many deaths in this impoverished nation. Others have been many efforts made to ensure that relief and rescue operations at Haiti get the best in terms of suitable aid and help monetarily and financially. This is why Cole Starkey, a long distance cyclist has set out on a cycle ride to bring attention to the plight of survivors and the need to help out the victims of the vagaries of nature. This is a ride that would span as much as 3,000 miles. One hopes that he would do well and get a lot of money to help out those in dire need.
Cole has decided to ride across 3000 miles on the Atlantic Cots of the US, right from Pennsylvania due to Florida. After that he would go along the west to Louisiana and finally east to New Orleans. This is no mean task or small change as it’s a ride spanning such a huge distance. This will take almost one month to be over and you can also check out Cole’s blogs as he has been blogging on the go.
There is something about train journeys that makes these quite an adventure. From early childhood, there are many people who fall in love with train journeys and this passion stays with these people for the rest of their lives. No matter how old they become, they invariably come back to the train journeys that have given them so much joy over the years. This is also true given the fact that airline journeys and hanging around in airports is no longer considered cool and could be seriously harmful to world ecology. For many, an airplane journey may be fast and cheap too, it misses out on the landscape below that is there to be seen and savored.
If you do not go on train journeys, you do not get to see the rolling mountains, gushing streams, green meadows and the many bounties of nature that are there for everyone to look at and enjoy. This is where train journeys score big time over airplane journeys any day. There lies the inspiration for compiling the list of the 10 best train journeys of all time, which have been compiled with a lot of care and after huge amounts of research. From the Trans-Siberian rail link to the highest China-Tibet line to cross country lines across Australia and India, you will be amazed at the wide variety of train lines that feature in this list.
