There are many aspects of Nepal that come alive once March comes and spring finally sets in, people star responding to Kathmandu calling after the long and cold winter, and as people flock from around the globe, Kathmandu starts bustling with lots of activity. Tourism and mountain climbing is the mainstay of the economy here and it’s great that people do answer to the sound of Kathmandu Calling. Apart from the majestic and proud Mount Everest, there are so many other peaks that call out to avid climbers and mountaineers and ensure that they have the time of their lives.

There are many teams that have gone up to Base Camp from Kathmandu and indeed Edurne Pasaban’s team has moved from Base Camp to camp 1 and also past Camp 2 where they are now fixing the ropes up to lead to Camp 3. So this team is well on its way and is making encouraging progress with each passing day. There is another team led by Oh Eun-Sun of South Korea who is also here, having just one 8,000 meter plus peak to be added to her repertoire right now. All of this makes for exciting reading in the days and couple of months ahead, so keep reading this space for more.
