The Siberian expedition is one of the most daunting expeditions across the globe. You can look far and wide, but is unlikely you will get a terrain as challenging as the Siberian expedition. This is exactly what Ray Zahab and Kevin Vallely want to experience, as they savor the icy adventures of the Siberian expedition. They had recently got into training before setting out on this Siberian expedition. These two adventure seekers would want to set a speed record in crossing Lake Baikal. Lake Baikal is the deepest and largest freshwater lake on the planet.

The Lake Baikal is frozen during winter and now is the time to traverse more than 400 miles of its length which is quite icy at this point in time. They are not going to take any support by teams. They would take all their supplies in sleds behind them, and yet attempt to cover around 40 miles every single day. This increases the level of challenge and difficulty several notches up. Add to this the fact that the Siberian winter can be very harsh and unforgiving, and you will get an idea of how tough the Siberian expedition promises to be. The temperatures and the thickness of ice also add to the dangers of the trip.
