Solo Kayak Expedition on Course
The solo kayak expedition is on course, as Hayley Shepard reached South Georgia Island. The waters were quite wild, and also challenging. This was as expected. The trip was also not without danger, as there were many icebergs in the ocean near Antarctica. Getting to avoid these icebergs on her solo kayak expedition, was an adventure by itself. The weather systems had acted up, and the high winds did not give her suitable anchorage at Eleshul Bay. The rough seas also ensure a number of delays and threats to personal safety. Getting to the main expedition seems to be quite a daunting task. But then, Hayley is quite determined to carry on with the expedition, irrespective of the challenges. That’s what heroes are made of.
Now Hayley will spend the next few days getting her gear in place. She also has to prep the kayak, and get it battle ready for the main expedition. Her very life may depend on getting everything set. The high seas can be very unforgiving. And when you are talking of the Falklands, it is one mean sea to cross. Talking of the Antarctic expedition, Hayley has been preparing for it for five years. She is even funding it herself.
